Passes & memberships

From the organiser's Help guide. This is the page an organiser reads inside their own admin, exactly as they see it. On the demo you can read it but not open the admin behind it.

Site Settings → Features → tick Memberships and/or Class packs, then Bookings → Pass Types → Add pass type

A pass is something people buy once and then use to book your classes without paying each time. There are two kinds, and you switch on only the ones you want:

MembershipUnlimited classes while it lasts — e.g. Monthly unlimited, £60 a month.
Class packA set number of classes — e.g. 5-class pass, £65. Each booking uses one.

Once a switch is on and you've added a pass type, a Passes page appears in your website's menu where people can buy it by card.

1. Add a pass type

Give it a name guests will recognise, choose the kind, and set the price in pounds. Then choose how it's paid:

Renews every month / yearStripe takes the payment again automatically until the guest cancels. A renewing class pack gets its classes again each time; tick Unused classes roll over to carry leftovers forward instead of resetting.
Bought onceOne payment, no renewal. Fill in Lasts (days) to give it an end date (e.g. 90), or leave it blank for no end date.

For a class pack, fill in Classes in the pack.

2. Which classes it covers

A pass covers your regular classes: any event that belongs to a class series. Pick particular series under Classes it covers to limit it (e.g. only Tuesday evenings); leave it empty for all of them. Workshops, retreats and courses sold as a whole are never covered — people book and pay for those as usual. On a course that sells single dates, a pass books dates, one class per date.

3. How guests book with a pass

Each class they want, they still make a booking — so your numbers, check-in list and reminder emails all work exactly as normal. On the class page, under Use my pass, they press Book with my pass. The first time on a device, they type their email there and we send them a link that signs them in; after that it's one step. The link in their pass confirmation email, or their My bookings link, signs them in too. The booking is confirmed at £0 and shows as Paid via: Pass / membership.

If you cancel a booking made with a class pack (open the booking and press Cancel without refund, or Cancel one date for one date of a drop-in), the class goes back on their pass automatically.

Who has bought what, failed payments, adding someone by hand and cancelling are on the next page, Pass holders & renewals. To see it all as your guests do, read What a pass-holder sees.

Changing a price

Just change it and Save. New buyers pay the new price; people already on a renewing pass keep the price they signed up at.
